The Greek government announced today a new set of measures to deal with the economic crisis. The announcement was made in a brutal and cynical way.
The measures announced constitute the greater attack against labour after the fall of the dictatorship. The government puts to practice the most extreme neoliberal policies subjecting the greek economy to the moods of the speculative markets and the international banking capital.
The current financial strangulation of the greek economy is the outcome of the neoliberal model prevalent in the European Union today.
The new government measures will sink the country into a deep and long depression while at the same time they constitute a total assault aiming at the overthrow of labour relations, income and social security system.
The governments of the last decades, both PASOK and New Democracy, bear a great responsibility for the disruption of the production networks of the country and deepening the distortions of the national production model.
The massive and unitary struggle of the working people for the reversal of these measures is the only way as well as the only hope for a change of the course followed by Greece and Europe.
We call on every working man and woman, on the youth of Greece to be in the streets as from tomorrow.
