NO to a new vicious circle of violence and blood in Palestine

PrintPanos Trigazis, member of the Political Secretariat of SYNASPISMOS responsible for foreign policy issued the following statement:

“We join our voices to those of the peace loving forces in Israel and Palestine, with which we are in contact, demanding the termination of the Israeli military invasion of Gaza and the reinforcement of the diplomatic efforts for the de-escalation of the crisis. The logic of an “eye for an eye” is catastrophic. It makes us all blind, as Martin Luther King used to say.

The Greek government and the European Union must cease to behave like “Pontius Pilate” and contribute towards the aversion of a new vicious circle of violence and blood. A new process of a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue on the basis of the UNO resolutions should be set in motion without delay Because it is only through the termination of the Israeli occupation and the creation of an independent Palestinian state that the two peoples, Palestinians and Israelis, will be able to live peacefully within safe and internationally recognized frontiers.”
